VT-Vandy & Miami-Florida Swap


Washington DC is the #9 TV market and Nashville is #29
Miami is #18 and Gainesville is #168

Why does it make sense for the SEC? TV markets (if that is what this is really about).

Why does it make sense for VT and Miami: Getting away from Pitt, BC, Syracuse and Louisville who can ruin your season with a loss and are meaningless as a win. Regardless, I have never seen our players get hyped about playing any of the aforementioned teams. It's just uninspiring. Don't get me wrong, VT-Missouri doesn't sound that exciting either, but SEC money and competition does.

Regardless, I can't imagine a major pickup for the ACC as of now. Cincinnati doesn't move the needle. Raiding the rest of the Big12 isn't a thing.

I know we fancy ourselves an academic institution of ACC caliber, but let's not forget that it was football that caused application numbers at VT to skyrocket and provided the opportunity for VT to become more selective as a school.

Lastly, VT was a charter member of the Souther Conference which later split into the SEC and ACC; the latter of which we snubbed and wandered in independent wilderness for 25 growth stunting years. So, it could make sense to both schools and the SEC to swap.

Just a thought...
